At The Physiotherapy Centre , we believe that elite technology should be accessible to everyone—not just professional athletes. That’s why we have invested in Force Plate technology at both our South Liverpool and Crosby clinics.
We don’t just “look” at how you move; we measure it with scientific precision to take the guesswork out of your recovery.
A force plate is a highly sensitive medical platform that measures the “ground reaction forces” your body generates. It records data thousands of times per second, capturing subtle imbalances, strength deficits, and movement patterns that the human eye simply cannot see.
One of the most powerful ways we use our force plates at both sites is for Advanced Balance Assessments.
For Older Adults: We use “Quiet Stand” and “Stability Limits” tests to objectively measure your fall risk and track improvements in your steadiness over time.
For Post-Op Patients: Following knee or hip surgery, we measure exactly how much weight you are shifting to your “good” leg, helping you regain symmetrical movement faster.
For Athletes: We assess “Dynamic Stability”—how well you can land and stabilise—to ensure you are truly ready to return to sport without risking re-injury.
By using force plates at every stage of your journey, we provide:
Objective Baselines: We know exactly where you are starting from on Day 1.
Symmetry Analysis: We identify if one limb is working harder than the other, preventing future injuries.
Visual Progress: You get to see your own data. Watching your “balance sway” decrease or your “landing force” stabilize is the ultimate motivation.
Evidence-Based Decisions: We only clear you for high-impact activity when the data confirms your body is ready.
